Twitter's headquarters may change location - Musk signals

Elon Musk, the owner of Twitter, hinted on Tuesday that the company may not maintain its headquarters in San Francisco .

During a virtual appearance at the Wall Street Journal's CEO Council Summit in London, Elon Musk provided a vague response when asked about whether Twitter would remain in the city of San Francisco.

Recently, San Francisco officials revealed an ongoing investigation into Twitter following allegations made by six former employees. These individuals claimed that Elon Musk's team violated laws by converting the company's headquarters into what they referred to as a "Twitter Hotel." The purpose behind this was to provide sleeping quarters for employees who were expected to work late hours on the social media platform. This situation arose after Musk terminated or laid off nearly 80 percent of Twitter's workforce.

The San Francisco Department of Building Inspection has announced that it will conduct an investigation into the recent allegations concerning Twitter's headquarters.

The former Twitter employees have made additional claims, claiming that Musk's team instructed various modifications to be made to the company's headquarters, which is located in a 1930s Art Deco building in downtown San Francisco. According to the allegations, these changes violated building codes and included actions such as disabling lights and installing locks that would not function during an emergency. These details were outlined in the lawsuit filed by the employee.

In 2021, Elon Musk relocated the headquarters of Tesla, his electric car and solar panel company, from California to Texas. This decision came after a disagreement with health officials in Alameda County, California, regarding the reopening of a Tesla factory during the initial stages of the COVID-19 pandemic.
