Trump plans to launch his sons crypto

Former President Donald Trump is set to speak next Monday about cryptocurrency and the launch of a new company called World Liberty Financial. This crypto platform is run by his sons, Donald Jr. and Eric.

"We're welcoming the future with cryptocurrency and moving away from the slow, old-fashioned big banks," Trump said in a video posted Thursday on X, the social media platform where he'll also be giving a speech on the topic at 8 p.m. EDT on Monday.

As part of his presidential campaign, Trump has said to make the United States the "crypto capital of the world."

Cryptocurrencies are types of digital money that can be bought, sold, and traded online without using traditional banks. People usually trade them on online platforms, which charge fees for transactions, allowing cryptocurrencies to be converted into U.S. dollars or other currencies.
