IPhone 14 Review

IPhone 14 Review

Many things are the same as, the last years phone.

The design of the phone, buttons locations, same camera arrangement, and same speakers.

In the inside of the phone it has the same chip as last year A15bionic, but with a slight improvement; it has more GPU core. Which was in the 13 pro. But many people do like the design, the locations of the buttons and so on, which is totally agreeable. I do like the design of the phone too, but I am egar to see if any significant changes or improvements could happen to the smart phones.

Because mostly the design is the same, the button locations are the same, the battery and the camera spec's just improve slightly. But if feels as if not much has changed or improved in the phone industry over the past few years.

The phone does have the same display, brightness level, 60Hz refresh rate. The phone costs $799. It has the same storage levels, same battery size, same charging speeds, and the same lightning port. It seems likes the IPhone 13, with little improvements.

What's new in the phone ?

The satellite connectivity, crash detector , display resolution,  new colors, esim, better thermal design and reparability design, new primary camera and selfie camera.

If you are lost and no self service is available; this phone can now connect with satellites. In case of emergency's, you don't know where you are, you can use it to locate where you are, and get assistance  to a dispatch center; this will be available  in U.S. and Canada in November.  This can be helpful.

The phone uses new sensors inside the phone and collects data from the microphone and GPS to identify if you are in a car accident, and if you are it will notify emergency services without you having to do the call yourself.  This seems like a important feature to have.  So this a pro for this phone.

This phone now has e-sim only; I guess that is nice.  There is a improved thermal design inside the phone for the same A15 bionic chip, which means that there will be better performance around the edges.  Like  when playing a game for a long time, or using the phone for a really long time; the phone will be able to handle those things a bit better.

The glass part on the back of the phone is made to be a separate piece, than the internal parts. So it is easier to replace or repair if there is any problems with that portion. So the design of that has improved on this phone.

A physical change we can see on the phone is the camera. It has a 12 megapixel camera, the ultra wide part has the same hardware and 12 megapixel selfie camera is on the front of the phone with auto focus.

With the 12 megapixel camera there is the larger sensor on the phone, so the individual pixels should be bigger and should let in more light. But the photos from the iPhone 13 and 14 displayed, not that much of a big differences or improvements. What was found is that, there is slight differences in color temperature. One phone would be a bitter bright than the other at times.  The photos appears to have the same quality of pictures taken, cannot seem to pick up on much differences between iPhone 13 and iPhone 14.

We can understand why Apple is doing this,  because it has some benefits to them when providing similar phones and just adding slightly little improvements to the phones. When we compare the latest phone  to the previous phone.  This will reduce the costs, it will reduce risks, because they do not need to spend more time in r&d  for new things. Prices can be lower because of that approach, and people still buy Apple phones. Which is surprising to me, because not many new features are available each year yet there is line ups to buy a new Apple phone each year.
