Ford's Electric Truck 1978 !

Ford's Electric Truck 1978 !

This Ford's electric truck is a prototype vehicle -   Currently there is no plans to produce it in large scale.

It has 2 electric motors,  the batteries and the interior  are from Mustang Mack - E GT.  It has 19 by 10 inch wheels surrounding it by Michelin rubber.  It has 480 horsepower, over 600 pound feet of torque and it does seem like it's custom rebuilt as new.  The overall look is amazing, it has the Avalanche Gray with Cerakote Copper  color to it. The tires have that old school look to it, custom built to match to the current times.

The cargo bed is basically made up of solid metal and the tailgate does seem heavier to open and close because there isn't one of those automatic door open buttons like on modern vehicles.  When opening the doors of the truck you can actually see the mechanical way of holding the door open. This is something unique that you don't see alot now.

Something that is absolutely cool is that it has frunk under the hood of the vehicle; there is no engine up there. You can have storage for your things, in a truck from the 70's.

There is a combination of old and new, and some new features which is hidden and manipulated  to give the old feature look.  For instance there is a display behind the steering wheel as the dash, so its not the original dash.  I think some people would of wanted the original dash, there is new features and systems in the vehicle to make a combination of old and new.

The steering wheel does have a new look, it has the F100 on it with the brown color and the seats has the tan color to match to the rest of the vehicle's interior design.  Some thing many of us may like is the plaid stitching near the bottom of the door, its just nice to see that old school look again. The glove compartment is made of metal.   The ceiling portion is stitched with leather, the sun visors look like they are made up of metal wires consisting of leather pieces on it.

There is speakers behind the seats which is said, to be playing great audio. Which also seems like they are new but masked as old.  It is quite shocking to see the manual rolling up of the windows, certainly this is something that should be included for this style of vehicle.

The electric truck does have a camera on the back license plate to help with reversing, and there is another one in the front of the truck.  It has a normal ccs charging port.

So this electric truck does have  some old and new features to it, it is great to see some old features again in a vehicle; in this time period.  It seems quite nice and different to see wireless chargers right next to manual roll up windows and door locks. It looks like that is the goal of this truck, to give the modern comfortable features with a comfortable, familiar,  look and feel in this vehicle.

Some questions to consider are :

What do you guys think of this Ford's electric truck ?

Do you like the old, familiar features with the modern features; or would you like to have it separately, old and new ?
